Thanks for your interest in Beginner Piano Lessons at Matthew’s Lesson Centre (MLC). Here you have the Details for in person lessons:
- Content: the goal with children is “fun with Music”, and MLC lessons are tailored closely to the student’s level of understanding & development; and lessons are also planned to develop confidence & motivation (both with the teacher and away from teacher).
- Location: 2926 Sooke Lake Road [Tel. 236 478 7326]
- Arrival Instructions: Please knock on front door (text when familiar) then be greeted at side gate, and guided towards the teaching room.
- Cost: [52 CAD$ per hour] 26$ per 30 min. Call email to discuss.
- Payment/ Billing: “Cash or E transfer on departure” is the default payment. Parent guardian may also pay in advance: but cheques are not ideal.
- Piano Study Books: John Thompson’s: “Easiest Piano Course” & John Thompson’s “Teaching Little Fingers to Play”: piano students may wish to explore these excellent books. No book needed at start of lessons.
- Instrument at Lesson Centre: Matthew is the proud & only local owner, of the much prized Yamaha Modus F11! Its a remarkable Piano, with the most exclusive functionality; and valued at slightly under $10, 000 [10 Thousand Dollars]. A superb opportunity in and of itself.
- Instrument at Home: there is no need at “small child, or any beginner level” to have a proper instrument. There are however, many different decent options. Call email to discuss.
- Scheduling: is your decision: come once only, each week, bi-weekly. Again, this is your choice. Once I meet a student I shall make recommendation too.
- Cancellation: Customers are requested to give 24 hrs notice for a cancellation, so a lesson booked with less than 24 hours to go should be – a lesson paid. PLEASE Note: Mr H. can then Zoom in for a make up lesson OR add time to the next lesson. Parents shall receive ALL value for money spent.
- Qualifications: Matthew holds a Diploma in Professional Music [Rock School London], BA Honors [Computer and Music], PGCE [UCL IoE], QTS [Department for Education].
